Growing up in Illinois, my two first loves of art and nature split my time between the drawing desk in my modest room and the wilderness surrounding my home.  My interests expanded with time, adding skateboarding and motorcycles to the growing list. Love for my family and a great job kept me near home into my early 30’s, but a desire to foster my work and hobbies drew me to the west coast. After a few years in Los Angeles, my wife and I headed north to settle down in a city that embraces everything I have always held dear to my heart. I’m now happy to call Portland home.


I’m a passionate, design-driven Creative Director with a head full of big ideas. My diverse background centers on integrated, hands-on creative direction. With over 15 years of agency experience, I’ve served as a Creative Director for the past 9 years. I have developed brand campaigns, stories, content, and experiences on a regional, national, and global scale. When it comes to creative development, I strive to be as well-rounded and versatile as possible. I always dig deep to set a brand’s personality apart from its competitors.

When I’m not busy with client work, I still spend time at my drawing desk and in the woods. I’m wild about design, illustration, photography, video, and exploring with my beautiful wife and pig-like dogs.

I was hired by the VP of Creative at KEEN to bring my years of agency experience into the internal team and to help build out the internal agency, while working hands-on to fulfill day to day, full service creative needs.

My role at KEEN is similar to my past experiences as a Creative Director, managing and directing a team of art directors, designers, and production artists, as well as partnering with vendors and specialists for cross platform creative development.

While at KEEN, I have worked to identify and implement necessary creative processes, staffed roles that were needed for effective creative deliveries, led creative pitches and campaigns, created cross category communication, set forth seasonal design direction, branded technologies and categories, worked on cross functional projects and design, created a photo process, defined an ownable photo creative approach for KEEN Utility, partnered to tell stories and create rich content, and improved communication within departments.

Good People (formerly known as Famous Interactive) was a digital advertising and marketing agency. I served as creative lead on all projects, pitches, presentations, and everything in between. Working directly with the CEO, Director of Strategy, and Director of Technology, I created innovative experiences, content, and digital campaigns, for Hulu, Ubisoft, and other various entertainment and CPG clients. In addition to leading creative strategy and creative concepting, I spent time hands-on designing, art directing, and writing. My role also involved maintaining client relationships, presenting, pitching, developing company culture, and mentoring up-and-coming creatives.
